09/18/10 through 10/02/10 SATURDAY PLAYOFF TOURNAMENT INFO & RULES

17 matches are scheduled for September 18th. Some players will play more than one match so be sure to check the schedule for your start times since all matches must BEGIN PLAY no later than 10 minutes after the scheduled time and.

On September 25th most players will have to play more than one match and some players in the losers bracket will have to play 4 matches as 11 matches are scheduled all together.

Time NOTES:
1-Come to the club early! Any match not starting play on or before 10 minutes after the scheduled time will be considered a forfeited match and the player present will be advanced to the next level. That doesn't mean you can start warming up at 10 minutes after but the match must begin before 10 minutes after.
2-The rest period between the first two games of a match is 2 minutes. If a tiebreaker is necessary, the rest period between the second and third game is 5 minutes.
3-If I determine a match is running too long I may decide to change the scoring format to rapid score in order to keep the schedule on time. (Rapid score means each rally is a point for the winner.)
4-(Time outs) 15 point games are allowed only 3-30 second time outs. 11 point games are allowed 2-30 second time outs.

Any player may request to play a match before the schedule time and/or date, (other than Saturday), only if agreed to in advance by both players and me and it does not create a conflict with the schedule. Both players must email me they are in agreement but if I determine playing early creates a hardship for any reason to any player in the tournament then the exception will not be allowed and the player can forfeit. Please remember, this is a Saturday league and our players are only expected to play on a Saturday. It is always your choice not to play any given Saturday but this playoff is an exception and will be treated like any tournament. There will not be any makeups! Be aware that since we have several multi match days I don't foresee very many exceptions being allowed. Therefore, I'm warning you in advance that I am sorry but if you can't play when scheduled then do us all a favor and tell me you are forfeiting out.

Everyone is allowed to forfeit ONE match in the top bracket and be allowed to play in the loser's bracket. If you decide to forfeit in the losers bracket you are out altogether.

The top bracket scoring will be best 2 out of three with an 11 point tie breaker. 15-15-11

The loser's bracket scoring will be best 2 out of three with a 7 point breaker. 11-11-7

Prizes will be a free league for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Your loving league manager,
